Arturo Vidal Feels Happy At Juventus And Is Close To Full Strength

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal spent the better part of the summer being linked with a move to Manchester United. The rumors became so loud that at one point reports surfaced of an ‘agreement’ being reached between the player’s agent and the English club.

But the stories slowly disappeared and the Chile international remained in Turin with the Italian champions.

Speculation is the reason a transfer never materialized was because manager Louis van Gaal had concerns over the midfielder’s ongoing knee problems and – despite his national team coach’s reassurances – the United boss decided to nix any deal for the 27-year-old.

Fast forward to today and Vidal has told the media that he is happy at Juventus and is 100 percent focused on helping the club win another scudetto. In an interview with the Chilean radio program Al Aire Libre, the midfielder said: “I feel content and happy here. It’s going to be my fourth year, I feel at home.”

“Good things have happened in this period and we are getting set to play at our best, I’m happy about the results.”

Vidal then went on to address the constant reports in the media which have speculated about his departure from the Turin club.

“There are always rumors, but I’m feeling relaxed,” the Chile international said. “I only think about Juventus, I’m at 100 percent right now, I’m training at the utmost to become one of the best.”

“There are always rumors about the future, but I don’t dwell on them, I’ve got a person to take care of that [his agent].”

When questioned about his knee, Vidal responded: “The doctor told me that this trouble was going to persist for another two or three months and I worked on it.”

“I played with the pain, but now I don’t feel it anymore, I am improving every day and now I feel almost perfect.”

“Now the tough games are coming and we hope to win.”

In seven Serie A starts for Juventus, Vidal has been substituted off on four occasions with manager Massimiliano Allegri carefully monitoring his playing time.

This past weekend, the midfielder scored from the penalty spot during Juve’s 2-1 win over local rivals, Torino. The goal was Vidal’s fourth goal in all competitions.

Next up for the Italian champions is a trip to Fiorentina on Friday, followed up by a visit from the defending Spanish champions, Atletico Madrid, next Tuesday in matchday six of the Champions League group stages.
