Man United and Dortmund tickets on sale for Las Vegas friendly

Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund tickets are on sale as both teams head to Las Vegas to face off in a friendly this summer. Each club announced the fixture this week, adding to an already impressive resume of games coming to the United States this summer.

This friendly between Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund is at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on July 30 at 8 p.m. ET. It will be another major fixture at Allegiant Stadium. Last summer, it was El Clasico that highlighted the summer set of fixtures. In addition to this friendly, Las Vegas is also hosting the CONCACAF Nations League Finals. That includes a USMNT game against Mexico in the semifinals.

This announcement means Borussia Dortmund is the latest club to be making a trip to the United States. As of now, the confirmed clubs joining Dortmund in coming Stateside are Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Wrexham. However, there is reason to believe the list could grow to include Barcelona and Real Madrid. Both want to host another Clasico in the United States.

Dortmund and United set for Vegas friendly

For Manchester United, it is the club’s first trip back to the United States since the summer of 2018. Dortmund’s last venture into the United States was the summer of 2019. Dortmund managing director Carsten Cramer looks forward to allowing the team to play in Vegas.

“We look forward to returning to North America, where the market is becoming Increasingly important and the excitement for football growing in the run-up to the World Cup 2026,” Cramer said. “Not only does the Allegiant Stadium look great from the outside, but the enthusiastic fans in the USA, which we have missed since our last visit, will ensure that the game in Las Vegas will have a special place in BVB history.”

Likewise, Manchester United is looking forward to the contest. Manchester United’s San Diego friendly against Wrexham was already public knowledge. However, this game certainly has more international acclaim. United Director of Football John Murtough thinks both games can be great for the growth of United in North America.

“The response we have received from fans since announcing we will be returning to the US has been incredible,” Murtough told the Manchester Evening News. “We already have a full house for the match in San Diego, and I am sure it will be the same for this fixture in Vegas.”

Intriguing squads for both teams

The contest in San Diego will feature academy and youth talents from Manchester United. However, the Dortmund friendly in Vegas will feature the usual suspects from both clubs. Marcus Rashford, Lisandro Martinez, Marco Reus and Julian Brandt should all be in attendance.

It is also the first time Jadon Sancho will have the chance to face his former club. However, the jury remains out on Jude Bellingham, who could very well be on the move in the summer. In fact, Manchester United is one of the clubs interested in landing the talent.

The last time these two clubs played one another was during a friendly in Shanghai in 2016. Dortmund defeated United, 4-1.
