For the first time in ten months, Sling TV is offering a free trial to new customers.

In the early days of Sling TV, a free trial was always offered. However, in March 2021, the company removed all free trials for Sling Blue and Sling Orange. In short, Sling was looking to copy the same model as ESPN+, Disney+ and HBO Max. None of them offer free trials.

Thankfully, Sling TV has decided to make a U-turn. Free trials have returned. After all, the best way to try a new streaming service is by taking it for a test drive.

If you’re new to Sling TV, they have many different options. The two main ones are Sling Orange and Sling Blue. Of equal importance, Sling Orange includes many channels but many from ESPN. Meanwhile, Sling Blue includes many stations too, but many from FOX Sports. So, for consumers, the biggest decision is figuring out if you prefer ESPN or FOX Sports.

On the other hand, you can combine Orange and Blue into a Sling Orange and Blue package. With that, you get the best of both worlds in regards to FOX and ESPN.

Once you’ve made that choice, you can always choose to add a string of other packages and channels.

Honestly, the best way to figure out what you want is to use the free trial. There are a few reasons why. Firstly, you can add as many packages as you want to see what’s the best fit for you. Secondly, the Sling TV interface isn’t as intuitive as some of the competitors, so it takes time to adapt to it. Thirdly, it takes time to trim back some of the packages that may not be the best fit. And lastly, three days is plenty of time to get used to the Cloud DVR.

Sling has removed the free trial option before. And it’s possible that they may do it again. Ten months without having a free trial available is a long time. So if you’re considering Sling, now is the time to take advantage of the offer.
