According to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), Joao Pedro will <a href="https://www.uol.com.br/esporte/futebol/ultimas-noticias/2024/09/04/dorival-convoca-joao-pedro-como-substituto-de-pedro-na-selecao.htm" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">join the squad on Thursday</a> ahead of Brazil’s match against Ecuador on Friday.</p>



<p>Pedro’s injury, a sprained left knee, has ruled him out for the remainder of the season. It marks a significant setback for the striker and Flamengo. This unfortunate event has, however, opened the door for the Brighton ace to step in and make a mark on the international stage. <p>Brighton &amp; Hove Albion are already making moves ahead of the summer transfer window. The South Coast club have reportedly agreed a massive fee for Watford’s Joao Pedro. According to the <em><a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12027169/Brighton-agree-record-breaking-30m-Watfords-Joao-Pedro.html?ns_mchannel=rss&amp;ns_campaign=1490&amp;ito=1490" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Daily Mail</a></em>, the Brazilian attacker will move to the Seagulls for about $37 million. If the deal becomes official, this would smash Brighton’s transfer record by more than $10 million.</p>



<p>Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi was asked about the player during a press conference on Friday. </p>

<h2>Pedro would be another exciting attacker for Brighton</h2>

<p>Pedro is currently Watford’s top scorer in the <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/championship-tv-schedule/">Championship</a> with 11 goals. The 21-year-old forward was the subject of transfer proposals last summer, but ultimately opted to remain with his club. Nevertheless, Watford are struggling in the second-tiered competition and a move away from the team this summer seems likely.</p>



<h2>De Zerbi is also chasing Liverpool’s Milner</h2>



<p>Along with Pedro, Brighton are also reportedly also chasing James Milner. <em><a href="https://theathletic.com/4465404/2023/04/28/brighton-james-milner-liverpool/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Athletic</a></em> claims that the Seagulls want to bring in the <a href="https://worldsoccertalk.com/liverpool-tv-schedule/">Liverpool</a> midfielder as a free agent this summer. Milner, 37, will depart the Merseyside club after his current contract expires in June.</p>
